AquaTT UETP CLG.

AquaTT is an SME specialising in scientific knowledge transfer and management activities. Founded in 1992 under the EU COMETT programme as a University Enterprise Training Partnership (UETP) to help bridge the gap between science and industry, AquaTT has now more than 25 years of experience in European Commission-financed projects including H2020 FP7, Interreg and Leonardo da Vinci. AquaTT works in scientific fields related to the marine, food, energy, health, genomics and environment (key sectors for Europe’s sustainability) and throughout all stages of the EC project cycle.

 

AquaTT works alongside Europe’s top researchers to help tackle major societal challenges by ensuring the new knowledge generated from EU research is effectively transferred resulting in uptake and measurable impact. To do this, AquaTT have pioneered the successful development and implementation of knowledge management and transfer methodologies in several of these EC-financed projects. AquaTT is currently a work package leader in the 10 other H2020 projects and has been a partner in over 15 FP7 projects. In parallel to its work supporting research, AquaTT has a long track record in the field of education and training, informing strategies, and creating networks to exchange best practice. AquaTT works alongside Europe’s top researchers to help tackle major societal challenges by ensuring the new knowledge generated from EU research is effectively transferred, resulting in uptake and measurable impact.

Avril Hanbidge

Avril qualified from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2014 with a MSc in Environmental Science. Her research focused on freshwater ecology in Ireland. Avril joined AquaTT in 2018 as a Project Officer, having previously worked in water resources research, natural resource management and most recently in conservation project management in Australia. Her role within AquaTT involves the dissemination, communication and transfer of knowledge resulting from European-funded projects. In GENIALG, Avril deals with the day to day running of WP7: Dissemination, Stakeholder Engagement, Knowledge Transfer, Outreach Capacity Building.

Marieke Reuver

Marieke Reuver is AquaTT RTD Programme Manager. Marieke has extensive experience in managing EU research projects, dealing specifically with knowledge management and transfer, communication and dissemination, as well as stakeholder engagement. She has been managing Aqua-tnet, the largest European network in aquaculture, fisheries and aquatic resource management involving universities, research institutes and industry, for over six years. She has a background in Animal Science (MSc) from Wageningen University (the Netherlands). She will be the person in charge of managing the scientific and technical aspects of the tasks assigned.

Cliona Ní Cheallachaín

Cliona Ní Cheallachaín holds a degree in science and a background in the aquaculture industry. She is Senior Project Manager at AquaTT, where she has worked since 2011, focusing mainly on knowledge management and transfer within several FP7 projects, such as AquaInnova and MarineTT; and, project management and dissemination within others, such as MG4U, Trafoon and COMMON SENSE. She is the Project Manager for the €4 million COLUMBUS project hosting 26 partners and tagged the European Commission’s flagship initiative on Blue Growth and Knowledge Transfer.

David Murphy

David Murphy is Manager of AquaTT and has more than 12 years of experience working in EC projects in the field of Education, Training and RTD, having coordinated eight and participated in over 40. He coordinated the FP7 project MarineTT, coordinated Aqua-tnet for five years, and was instrumental in growing the network to a more significant body able to meet the challenges of the Bologna and Copenhagen Processes and Reforms. He is also facilitator of the Knowledge Management Thematic Area of the EATiP, the European Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform. He will be the responsible of administrative, legal and financial aspects referred to his entity in the project.

Role in GENIALG

AquaTT is the lead partner on the Dissemination, Stakeholder Engagement, Knowledge Transfer, Outreach Capacity Building Work Package (WP7) for the GENIALG project.
