EABA Technical Webinar on Atlantic Sargassum Belt March 11, 2020
The Atlantic Sargassum Belt has very relevant ecological and economic impact and at the same time represents a great opportunity to understand the global ecosystem changes and potential mitigation and exploitation. A large problem can also be a large opportunity. However international collaboration is needed both to understand and to find possible routes of action.
This EABA Technical Webinar aims to increase the European interest and motivations to develop science, technology and business projects and activities related with the ‘Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt’. This is an intensive technical webinar where participants have the chance to present a short pitch and where interaction is promoted. From previous webinars it was possible to understand that this model of intensive work from 9.30 to 17.30 with coffee and lunch breaks provides at the same time a training and a learning and sharing opportunity.
This webinar will be chaired by GENIALG partner, Isabel Sousa Pinto, Group Lead of the Coastal Biodiversity Lab at CIIMAR. Her opening presentation is entitled, The new Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt.
